Budosprzęt designed and manufactured the non-standard formwork forms for the formation of the chimney outlets of the ventilation station of the technical building of the C.E.R.N branch in France. In accordance with the contractor’s arrangements and the staging of the work, a form was designed with 3 internal segments and one external full-height form.

The target form of the chimney outlet was cylindrical at the point of connection with the floor slab, passing on the inside into a torus surface and on the outside into a conical surface. Two fan support beams crossed perpendicularly in the axes of the outlet opening, which complicated the work by forcing a specific division of the forms. The first stage concerned the formwork of the splayed openings in the floor slab. The opening cut by the beams created four symmetrical fields, which were filled with three wedge-shaped strips to allow for their later removal. Their height was matched to the height of the beams.

The curvature of the spinning was then continued in a further form that became cylindrical. The whole was completed with an outer mould based on a truss combining the conical and cylindrical surfaces with an extension to the tie beam. There were 3 chimneys to be made, and the client opted for 2 sets of knockouts in the ceiling, as well as 1/2 of an outlet mould and a 6-fold conversion.
