VeloSkawa

VeloSkawa is one of the eight cycling routes forming part of VeloMalopolska. Budosprzęt designed and supplied formwork for the construction of three structures in Wadowice: a cycle bridge at km 0+072, a culvert at km 0+235 and a culvert at km 0+860.

The cycle bridge at km 0+072 consists of two abutments, 3.20m wide and 4.60m high, and a superstructure with a span of 16.76m. MidiFORM lightweight formwork was used for the abutments. This system has a load-bearing capacity of 60kN/m², the panels are connected with a modern wedge lock and the maximum panel size is 240x300cm. The superstructure was supported on a combination of 12.0m HEB 450 girders and 5.50m SMP8 lightweight system girders. The girders were supported at three support points. At the abutments, SMP8 system discs were placed with a capacity of 80kN per post, while in the central section, the ground was reinforced in 1/3 of the span with road plates and H-20 system heads, which like the SMP8 system discs, made it possible to strut the superstructure.

The culvert at km 0+235 is a small structure that consists of headwalls measuring: 10.0m long and 3.38m high. They are connected in the middle section by a precast reinforced concrete pipe with a diameter of 1.50m. A lightweight MidiFORM formwork with a wedge lock was also proposed for this structure, which allows the use of a 10cm timber insert that was previously used for the bridge abutments. The culvert at km 0+860 is a larger culvert that consists of dilated headwalls measuring: 17.94m long and 3.58m high, which are connected by a wet-formed rectangular culvert (crossing angle of 63 degrees) in the final concreting stage. The MidiFORM formwork, which was previously used for the end walls of the culvert at km 0+235, was used again for this structure.

The MidiFORM formwork worked very well on the aforementioned sites due to the low weight of the panels, the possibility of manual assembly, the use of compensating inserts using MidiFORM P wedge-locks and the large variety of panel sizes that made it possible to efficiently assemble the formwork to the required size.
